untitled

If my heart was a giant red blanket
I'd wrap it tight, around you
I'd let you sleep, deep inside my chest

I'd shut my eyes close
I'd breathe my breath in you
and clean the fog on your window pane
I'd blow away the clouds of your thoughts
out of your mind
and like rose petals in the path of summer breeze
I'd let them fill my veins with their scent

I'd put my arms around you
and gather the twigs, the sticks, the autumn leaves of your soul
and I'd make you a nest

I'd pick your dreams in my hands and curl my fingers around them
I'd keep them on my palm like lighting bugs
and let them twinkle through the night

If my heart was a giant red blanket
I'd wrap it tight, around you
I'd let you sleep, deep inside my chest
I'd never wake you up

I'd never let you go
