'Tomorrow I go to War'

When joy dies slowly by its own guilt
and laughter gives a twinge of pain
deep in the heart
silence engulfs

When the mistletoe of love
has grown and spread
too strong to rip, to deep to cut

When the mirrors reflect a familiar face
and the mind struggles to give it a name
who you are? who you have you been?

When what you have, and what you seek
the past, the present and the coming
the hands of the clock, the hours and minutes
the years, the months, the days, the week
and what you hold in your hands...
turns to sand

When the breeze that blows, crosses across
the hole in the chest, neither heals, nor grows
flying you go, like a leaf on the streets
and towns and cities begin to fade
It's time

Swim to the ocean of dying souls
stare in the eyes, that have lost all
stare deep and do not blink
there lies the answer
who you will be

...........

There are those who fight for honor. There are those who fight for pride. There are those too, who fight for riches and money and those, who fight because they don't have any other choice. Often, it is not the reason that decides who you are, how brave, how strong. Often, it is not the victory or defeat that separates heroes from villains. But it is how you fight and it is, who's war you are fighting.

But Harry says, it is in victory that the heroes and villains become equals. I asked him, how? He tells me, no hero can defeat a villain without becoming his equal. They must be at balance, and in that moment, when one's balance is lost by the weight of the other, there, there lies the moment of victory. He says, "you see, all heroes they can only win when they can outsmart the villain, when they can outshine them. And tell me, tell me just how do they do it? There is just one answer to that - by becoming a better villain then them". In his books, all heroes are villains.

If there be no victory, who can separate the villains from heros? Interesting, is it not ? That both sides share the same fear of loss, death and blood. Both sides are equal in more things than they can think of, such as their belief in being right. Each of them considers himself to be right, to be hero. Perhaps, the it all boils down to which side you are standing at.

The guy makes sense. He does, mostly. I said to him, yes Harry victory of a hero or a villain, both wear the same color of blood. Both are red. Defeat, in itself is too weak to decide the right or wrong. Every defeat is like a single cell organism, it seems small, meager, weak but it breeds. Slowly, it grows, multiplies, joins and before you know its back on its feet. The reason....the reason behind every fight, every war, no matter how strong or how glorious it is, but when the first soldier's blood spills on the battle ground....from that moment on, every war, every fight is left with only one purpose - survival. No glory, no honor, no pride, just survival. There is no glory in war, but there is more to it then just that. Specially, when the war is with one's self.

Total Submission

I won’t ask, not to break my heart
If you so desire, break me
and leave me scattered from west to east
just give me strength to bear the pain
So that I don't fail you

I do not complain about the wounds you inflict
I hold them as dear as your love and kindness
just help me bleed until I am clean

I don’t ask you to fulfill my desire
just give me courage to fulfill yours,
no matter it is against mine

I bow my head to you Master,
In you I trust
In you I find my strength

I will not complain. I will not question
My heart is doubtless, My soul has faith

Throw a stone at me and I won’t stop you
I will pick and bring it back to you
I will not raise my head, I will not say a word

I owe my being to you
I owe you my soul
Please don't give myself back to me
How can I keep what is not mine

I am at your door, always I'll be
in disgrace and humility I found blessings manifold
And it is not the Masters who choose their disciples
It is the disciples...
and I have chosen you

I give the reins of my fate in your hands
Master of the Masters,
you conquer the parts of my soul, that I could never rule

O’ Master of the hearts, Soul of the souls
down on my knees,
I submit to love
to the roses, and to the thorns
consume me.

One

When the breeze of your memories blows
My heart shivers like an autumn leaf

With the mention of your name
My tongue falls back inside me
and silence is the only language I can speak

Every detail of your face is visible to me
Like it is engraved in my eyes
Without you I am nothing more than a shadow of my own life

In the mirrors, in what I say or do
And what I think, and how I look
Every thing about me
Reminds me of you

How many mirrors can I break
And how many words can I leave unsaid
How many faces can I change
How many thoughts can I slay

How can I separate me from you
You are in me like water in wine

Coeur Intemporel

Hear my silence, so much it has to say
Answer me through the heart
I am listening to you
In the quiet of the night

I have lost my lips to love
and my eyes
Bewildered by what they see
Beneath the layers of my skin
Beneath the flesh
And the bones
an existence,
a sun, burning inside my chest
casting a shadow
The shadow that I am

In this darkness,
That surrounds you and me
Love, has lit a torch
Can you see?

Walk my way

Walk my way
in between the occurrences of wakefulness
You'll always find me standing there, where you left

The flames in my eyes
You will always find them lighting the path
that leads from you to me

Love is timeless
and my heart is in the hands of love
it does not age
Every night is a quest for you
Every day I fall in love with you again
again...

The Forbidden Tree

I was born a fighter
So many a times,
I stared in the eyes of death
Like it was just another face of life

I was born strong
to be a seed that grows
not only in the mud, but in the sand
and bears flowers, even in the hearts of stones

I was born free
Free from the chains of beliefs
The masked realities
Beyond the limits, I could see
The universe was my country
And the world, my city

I was born brave

but slowly then,

The forbidden tree spread its roots
Secretly, making their way to me
Swiftly, crawling up my feet
Fastening my legs
Tightening around my arms
Chocking my neck

Its poisonous fruit
Dripped the drop of fear
in my thoughts
And I learned to be afraid

Afraid, of the known

Forever my lips were sealed
And,
my tongue buried
Under the weight of recognition

Reunion

Meet me,
Halfway to the sky
When my feet are freed
and the wings of my heart carry me to you

Meet me, touch and feel me
in my reflection, see your face
in my words, hear your thoughts
For so long,
I have been your eyes, I have been your voice

Meet me, and in that moment
Watch the stacks of hours fall
Watch the walls of years collapse
that moment,
will be the only one to last
the only one, to never pass

Meet me, as the corners of the world untie
and it spreads
flat and wide before our eyes

Meet me, wake in me
the memories of before
peel through the layers of reason
live again, the time before the birth of time

Meet me, and the galaxies will cease,
the stars, the suns, the moons and earths
will come to kiss your feet
and our hearts will beat
in the center of every orbit,
and the paths of every milky-way

Meet me, and in my eyes
read the stories of my sorrows
turn the pages to my joys

Meet me, and I'll fall in you
like a river, in the sea
and the paths and courses that I took
and the many streams that I have been
nothing will matter

Meet me,
Halfway to the Sky
The sparks of my soul will fly to you
and the universe will behold
the fireworks of love
bursting like stars in the night sky
till eternity

The Musician

Strum the strings of my heart
Sing to me...

Sing to me
like a waterfall, rushing down the rocks
crash me in you, you in me

Dance with me...
Dance with me
hearts, beating the same beat
breathes, catching the same pace

Behind the darkness’s veil,
in the blues of the dawn
Break out of your skin...

And touch me with your soul

Hold my hand,
Soar above to the light
Hit the sky with a high note
burst with me...

and shower throughout the night in meteors

Fall in me, deep through the eyes
Come raining down inside my chest
swirl with me,
in the whirlpool of our hearts...

and spin the world around in Viennese waltz

Play for me,
the song of the souls...
Sing to me, heart to heart.

Time Bombs

Puffs of thoughts, like smoke
circle in my head
and vanish into the walls of my mind,
dying young
almost as if, they were never born
as if they never lived
it kills to breathe
and with every beat,
something sacred
something deep inside dies a little bit
The world, a question in itself
a mystery
and the answer, wrapped in folds of 'end'
The end,
always too soon it comes
always too late to know
almost, in vain to find
Life, a puzzle that when solved, destroys itself.

Haunted

Every night I wake up dead
Murdered by the dreams
No matter how many times I die
The pain is always the same

In the morning
I gather the ashes and throw them in the river

And every night
Every river
Finds its way back to me

Dear Joseph

With the touch of your hand,
Flowing out of your finger tips,
You pour in life
Falling down like rain on a barren ground
And the hearts are laden with gardens
Flowers slowly raising their heads and waking up,
as I read

In the scent of your thoughts,
in your every word is a symphony
a melody,
music to the soul
And every atom of my being dances to it
I can’t hold my heart from leaping out
And coloring all the pages pink
Like the petals of a rose

Your words,
Open window to a new world
A forgotten place, where I might have lived before
some lives ago
And every sight, everything,
I recognize as if my own
As if, in your stories I was born,
As if,
I was never left alone,
As if,
you were never gone

When I read,
When I read aloud your words,
They leave their sweetness on the tip of my tongue
Sweeter than a thousand kisses
And I am surrounded with blooming flowers of the wild

In your words is my heart, is my heaven,
I open your book, to breathe
I put my hands on its pages for my heart to beat
Than how can I not read?
When all I am is nothing more than a breathing thought of yours
And if I don’t, make your book my Mecca
Who am I?
Perhaps all I’ll be is a paper, blank.

So, my dear
write for me,
write for them
write for yourself
write for us

Please don’t let your pen rest
In its ink, a life is thriving to be born
To be set free
